Mission Statement

The mission of Elders Counseling Group is to assist the senior population to attain a higher quality of life while dealing with emotional changes that often occur during the transition from living at home to moving to a facility for the elderly.

Qualifications

The staff of Elders Counseling is comprised of Clinical Psychologists who are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to perform psychotherapy, or in other words, counseling. Our Clinical Psychologists are very experienced in diagnosing and treating issues related to the aging process.

Format

The format of Elders Counseling is to provide evaluations and ongoing counseling to the elderly population who are seeking answers to conditions such as bereavement, mood disorders, illness, and adjustment disorders common to the elderly population especially when placed in a facility. Our counseling covers behavioral problems, insight oriented psychotherapy and supportive counseling.

Location

Elders counseling will deliver services at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and continuous care retirement communities. All counseling sessions are confidential, but shared with the family physician if desired by the patient.

Other Services

Elders Counseling also offers consultation for families with or without the resident (patient) present. Elders counseling will deliver services at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and continuous care retirement communities (CCRC's). All counseling sessions are confidential, but shared with the family physician if authorized by the resident.
